The May Kiawah Island Community Drop-in event was held on Wednesday, May 22nd and offered community members an opportunity to speak directly with Council Members Dr. Michael Heidingsfelder and Madeleine Kaye. Several community concerns were discussed and addressed, which included:
- Overall "Maze of K's" explanation
- The Cape parking root cause and solutions
- Captain Sam's Spit ownership and lawsuit
- Understanding the process to be allowed to install a generator at home
- Discussion on propane tanks
- Approval of variances without proper notification of neighboring property owners
- Beach rules and enforcement
- Negative impact of many iKiawah posts
Further insights and feedback regarding these questions and comments from community members will be provided at the next Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, June 4th at 1 pm at the Town Hall (4475 Betsy Kerrison Parkway).
